Wynn DePasquale, Director
Wynn played in Indiana for the Fort Wayne Volleyball Club from 1991-1996 as a defensive
specialist and at Homestead High School from 1994-1997 as the team’s setter. She attended Purdue University, then Indiana University-Purdue University of Fort Wayne where she was a competitive cheerleader.  After receiving a BS in Secondary Education, she moved to Naples. 
Wynn got married in 2004 to Justin DePasquale, moved to Fort Lauderdale, and went back to
school receiving her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University.  She moved back to SW Florida to be near her family and in 2006 established the Fort Myers Volleyball Academy.

Gary Bender, Co-Director
I found the game of volleyball after coaching collegiate soccer for five years.  And I’m really glad that I did!  I love the fast paced, team oriented action.  I started coaching and basically learned the game as a middle school coach in Ft Wayne, Indiana.

Brad Bender, Assistant Director

Brad went to Homestead High School in Indiana and played club volleyball from 1993-1994. 
After receiving a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University, he moved to Fort Myers.  Brad has been teaching middle school science in Lee County for 7 years.  Brad is a huge Indianapolis Colts fan from where his 2 1⁄2 year old son Peyton gets his name sake.

Ryan Lengerich
Ryan Lengerich is in his second year coaching with Fort Myers Volleyball Academy. He serves as college recruiting coordinator for the club. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he played four years at Elder High School, winning many individual accolades. In 1999 he earned Southwest Ohio Player of the Year, Cincinnati Enquirer Player of the Year and First Team All Ohio honors as the captain of Elder's state championship team. He was a four year starter as an outside hitter for the Indiana University club volleyball team. The team was
ranked No. 1 in the country for most of his senior year by the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association, the governing body for collegiate club volleyball. Ryan coached the Indiana University women’s club team for two years. From 2005-06 Ryan coached with the Fort Wayne Volleyball Club in Indiana. He moved to Fort Myers in August, 2007. Ryan is a government reporter for the Fort Myers News-Press. He plays beach volleyball throughout the region and enjoys running. He has finished two marathons in 2008. He is an avid Indiana University basketball and Cincinnati Bengals football fan.

Wes Vance
Wes is originally from Kentucky and graduated from Morehead State University (2001). 
Morehead is where he was truly introduced to volleyball.  Wes played on the men's club team for 4 years and was a student-assistant coach for the women's team for 2 years. He went on to be the head coach at Boyd County High School for 3 years.  The team went from 0 wins his first year to 18 wins his third year (yes he’s  bragging).  He took a year off from coaching and then became the head coach at Manchester College (Ind.) for a year, then moved back to Florida in the spring of 2003 and became the assistant coach at Bishop Verot High School in 2004, saying “I have seen some great players and wonderful people go through Verot.”  Wes was the head coach for Ft. Myers Volleyball Academy 15-2 team in 2007-2008. 

Jennifer Anderson
Jennifer started her volleyball career as a 4 year varsity player at Bradenton Christian School. She was a middle blocker on the women’s volleyball team for four years at Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, Fl. where she earned the team’s MVP each year. She coached the varsity team at Cape Coral High for 2 years, Bishop Verot junior varsity for 3 years, and was a USA Southcoach for 2 years. Husband is Andy and daughter is Ashlyn (will be 2 in Oct.).

Stephanie Ray
Stephanie has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Eckerd College and a Master’s
degree from Northwestern in Biological Sciences.  She has taught high school
biology for four years and coached at Notre Dame High School for Girls, Marian
Central Catholic High School, and Clearwater High School.  Stephanie currently
manages and guides nature tours on Sanibel for Tarpon Bay Explorers

Shayna Shelly
Shayna grew up playing volleyball for the Fort Wayne Volleyball Club all throughout Elementary School, Middle School and High School. She went on to play College volleyball at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 2002, 2003, and 2004 she was a coach for the Fort Wayne Volleyball Club. At the end of 2004 Shayna moved to Bonita Springs and was Gary’s assistant during the 2005 season.  In 2006, I was the JV coach at Gulf Coast High School in Naples and for the past two years she has been helping the Benders with Fort Myers Volleyball Academy.

Jeff Gerberick
Jeff grew up in Ohio and started playing volleyball in college, including one year of club.  He
played 20 years in Columbus, Chicago and with a USVBA team from Ft. Myers. 
He is in his second season as head coach for middle school at Canterbury.  Jeff is
IMPACT certified and coached the 13’s age division last year with Brad at FMVBA.
